Celebrating 50 Years of Love, Care and Support

In September 2008, Little Angels commemorated its 50th Anniversary with a Celebration and Open House. Former families, former staff, community members, supporters and friends were all invited to share in the festivities. The day included a walking tour of the facility with memorabilia, historical facts, photo displays and video shows along the way. Guests were served cake donated by Herb’s Bakery of Elgin, Ambrosia Patisserie of Barrington and the Jarosch Bakery of Elk Grove Village. Live music was provided throughout the tour by numerous musicians and small ensembles.

The event was punctuated by a special presentation highlighting the Knight of Columbus and the Elgin Area Organization of Harley Owners- both loyal fundraising supporters of Little Angels, Dr. Clare Ollayas speaking on behalf of her father who was the first Medical Director of Little Angels, a proclamation from Elgin’s Mayor Ed Schock proclaiming September 21st  to be Little Angels Day and a touching photo collage plaque presented to the Wasmond Family who founded this facility and grew up working at Little Angels.
